Isnt it amazing how people view you and your family?
It has recently been brought to my attention that all family's are the same. We share special moments, we laugh, we grow and we disagree! Turns out we are all the same, no matter how much you plan (obviously as I am the planner), you manifest or you just plain hope for things to be the best life is life and hick ups will happen along the way. So hey, why cant we all just sweep some things under the rug?

DIY Dahlias!
My precious mother has done it again! I am so excited to be working with her this summer on our newest project ONE and making my Sisters wedding reception one to remember! Not only has pinata making commenced for this woman she is also getting crafty in the wedding favour department! To incorporate our beautiful Dahlias even more into the summer time wedding reception at our property she is creating these fabulous little Flower Favours for guests to take home (for those of you that are invited i'm sorry to ruin the surprise, and well for those of you that aren't, Im sorry too) Check these little guys out! I cant wait.
Pies
So, when is it that you can say you have sliced your pie into too many pieces? Some say you have to have your hands in several pies, cookie jars or whatever kind of metaphor you want to use however when is it time to stop baking these pies or slicing the one you have been served into so many pieces?
When opportunity comes knocking at your door apparently your never sap post to turn it down. However "they" also say you should not bight off more than you can chew.
So where in all of this madness are you sappost to get a balance? Coming from a girl that started with nothing but a new diploma in the fall im feeling the pressure of slicing my new piece of pie pretty thin.
When do you say no? When do you take the time to recognize you have taken on too much and to stop taking on more?
Take this blog entry as a sorry excuse for not blogging or possibly take it as a note to your self. Whatever it is that your doing just try. Give it your all, throw your shit into the wind and hope for the best.
With love,
Pie Face

Coachella vs. Sasquatch!
So, here is the question you have to ask yourself, If you can cram bigger better bands into 3 days, why wouldn't you save your self the extra day of hooker voice, dirty camping face, the time & the weather gamble?
Heres the deal, I have been to both festivals, each offering their own amazing set of traits including amazing venue, great adventure and even better entertainment. However the year has come where only one may be attended, line ups are looking pretty standard in comparison with Coachella one upping Sasquatch as per usual.....
How is it that Coachella can blow Sasquatch out of the water even while they are trying to offer their biggest party yet for their 10th anniversary? Adding on an extra day does not mean you automatically win in comparison....... Yes there are many similar titles added to each bill, but can you really compare the emo cry fest that you would receive from watching Death Cab to one of which you would be crying from a bang over from rocking out so hard after a night filled with Kings of Leon & Black Keys back to back? I really hate to be this guy, I know its no fun choosing a festival especially after they have both been so good to me over the years but, Im sorry old friend, I suppose you and the beauty of the gorge have lost this battle & happy anniversary by the way.

Daze go by
My apologies for my delequince in this bloggin thing, Its funny how this has become one of those things that is now on my never ending list of things to do. Isn't it amazing how fast time can go by? I can barely even begin to comprehend the fact that it is February 3rd 2011 today. What happened to January? A month filled with new beginnings, aspirations and hope for the new year, only to be followed with February....?
Why is it that we can spend a whole year planning for what will change in the next only to forget about it a month in? Think to your self how many times you have said things will be different next year or next month. When will those things ever change? I don't have the answer, however I do know one thing. That we are the only ones in charge of our destiny. It is important to acknowledge that and take responsibility for it. If I thought for one minute last February that I would be sitting in fat teddys after work drinking red wine and blogging I would have laughed hysterically shaken that scary thought off and moved on plowing through the hours of home work I had on my plate at the time. However here I am, Juggling a full time work schedule and chasing my dreams of becoming something, somehow, somewhere. I suppose for now that somewhere is here that something is successful and somehow I suppose is in my hands and I'm not mad about it at all.

A Love Affair
You may possibly care about somethings I am up too in my life. So heres the update on what is going on in my newest business venture.... This new project I have created over the last few months with the help of a good friend Amber Larsen of Seesaw Design and and my wonderful mother Kella Newson, is a little something I Call ONE. ONE stands for Original Newson Events. Now to be specific Kella & I have decided to share the beauty of our beach front home with the world and open it up as a Venue for you, your friends or whomever you might spread the word too, to use as a Venue for your next event. We are offering the rental of the property for your ceremony, your reception, both or you can even have the entire house for the weekend!
This being said, our most exciting news today is that we have decided to join in on the fun at the Comox Valley Love Affair on March 5th, 2011 at the Old House Resort & Spa, in Courtenay. And well, with that out on the table, if your around I dare you to come out and visit us at the show or at the very least check out my site! Original Newson Events

Well, its been a weekend to remember here in the big city. I had the chance to reconnect with old friends and catch some great shows will doing it. I am feeling inspired and excited it was amazing to hang with the lovely ladies from AI and it was even better to walk out of a club with my ears ringing 2 nights in a row. The Media club was on fire friday nigh the amazing Richelle Newson representing Surge Ahead filled the house with the sounds of 2 amazing bands MCM & Run River. As far as I'm concerned they could hold a permanent spot in that venue on friday nights and I'd be pleased to stop in. Last nights explosive show from the Humans at Fortune Sound Club blew my mind, I consider them to be one of the hottest new bands in my world and are holding a top spot on the Ipod rotation right now. Great music, good friends, fabulous city.
